To further advance its renewable energy transformation, AES Andes won a public tender for the development of new 100% emission-free projects.

The tender was conducted by the Ministry of National Assets and consists of five plots of land located in northern Chile, specifically in the Tarapacá and Antofagasta regions. The award of these lands will allow the Company to develop more than 3,000 MW of wind, solar and BESS battery storage projects.

"We are very pleased with this award, as it allows us to continue contributing to Chile's energy transition process, thanks to renewable solutions that address the effects of climate change in a practical way," said Enrique de Ramón, Vice President of Business Development at AES Andes.

In addition, the executive highlighted that "this will allow us not only to add more renewable energy to the system, but also to accompany our current and potential customers in the decarbonization of their processes and to generate new jobs and talent."
